*-NOTE------>Sometime around Mid-2010: I was approached by a Davenport Police Officer, while parked in a Chick-fil-A parking lot [in a mall area]. The Officer asked for a reason why I was parked in the lot, so I explained that I ate food at the restaurant, and was working on my laptop while using the free WiFi. I, also, mentioned that I worked as a telecommute (work from home) Freelance Web Programmer for a company in Utah, and often used WiFi around town. Next, the Officer requested my vehicle/driver identification, and increased the awkwardness of the situation by asking some odd and insulting questions, such as "Are you a teenager?," "Did you runaway from home?," "Where's your family?," "Do you have any friends in there with you?," "Do you drink?," "Are you on drugs?," "...[FRANKLY] Why are you here?" So, after I handed the Officer my Driver's License and related vehicle documents, I said, "I am an adult...I'm 28 years old, and I recently moved to Davenport from Indiana...I don't do drugs, and I do not drink alcohol..." In spite of my responses, the Officer requested to search my vehicle. So, after I exited my vehicle, the Officer frisked me, while 2 more Officers approached. They, also, asked intrusive questions and requested more details on any family and friends. One Officer asked, "Where are your family located?...Do they know where you are?...Give me your parents' phone number?" I replied, "I grew up in Michigan. However, I no longer have contact with my former legal guardians." Once again, the Officer asked, "Where are your parents located?...Are they still in Michigan?...Give me their phone number?" Then, I replied, "They could still live in Michigan...It has been a few years, since I last spoke to them...I think their phone number is still ###-###-####." Next, the Officer called the phone number with a cell phone and spoke for awhile on the phone, and then handed the phone to me. I was on the phone briefly and then handed it back to the Officer, who continued speaking by phone for another 5 or more minutes. After the Officer was done with the phone, he directly pointed at me and said, "We're going to let you go. But, you need to talk to your parents!" The Officers, then, left the parking lot...NOTE: Before the Officers approached my vehicle, they were investigating a robbery at a computer store (Computer Evolution), in a mini-mall, across the street.
*-NOTE------>Winter 2010: While working my newspaper route (Quad-City Times), the 4-wheel drive transmission system of my '05 Dodge Dakota started to fail, and the tires got stuck in the snow. Eventually, a Scott County Sheriff Officer approached and started to help push the truck out of the snow. Soon after, over 6 more Officers (County Sheriff and Davenport Police) assisted with pushing the, over 2 ton, truck out of a snow rut.
*-NOTE------>Following year: Throughout year 2011, the Police (Davenport Police and County Sheriff) appeared on my newspaper routes. Initially, I thought it was a continuation of the previous year's generic efforts by Law Enforcement to provide emergency response and basic neighborhood patrol. However, over the course of the year, they raised the spy level, and were noticed, every month, sporadically parked in a parking lot across from the newspaper distribution center. So, their weekly surveillance seemed increasingly odd and intrusive. Eventually, I assumed that they were investigating me, since I was a full-time RVer (parked obviously in local parking lots), had yet to pay down on an insurance-related fine from a November 2010 accident, and had accumulated over a dozen "Photo Enforcement" vehicle infractions.

*-ACCIDENT ACCOUNT--->November 23, 2010: The Officer said I was at fault...[-ODD-]...Yet, I [as usual] slowed my truck into the turn...AND, the local Auto Shops said [at the time] my braking and transmission systems were URGENTLY in need of [OVER $2000 worth of] repair.

Time: 10:30pm (approximate)

Description:
[Traveled] EAST on Middle RD, then made a LEFT onto the Interstate 74 divide, before [the] entry ramp, while the traffic light displayed on the Green Arrow. During the LEFT turn, while slightly yielding in motion, a dark blue Chevy Malibu quickly moved in front of my vehicle from the WEST on Middle RD. My vehicle’s brake [pedal] was quickly applied and the vehicle stopped. [Note: At the time, the braking system was experiencing ABS issues and often grinded before reaching a complete stop. So, the vehicle was in need of repair.]

The front of my vehicle was checked for damages[. A] piece of plastic from the other vehicle was found lodged between the headlight and bumper, along with a few scuff marks on the bumper.

*-NOTE------>On March 6, 2013: In the evening, while driving south on S 35th St., a Council Bluffs Police Officer and I simultaneously stopped at a 5th Ave. "STOP" sign. The Officer was driving west on 5th Ave., before slowly turning onto S 35th St. As the Officer slowly moved north on S 35th St., he appeared to flash his high beams a few times. However, I decided to take a neighborhood side street route towards a nearby 9th Ave. gas station. Since, I frequently visited that gas station, I decided to quickly stop by and pick up a snack. As I turned onto 9th Ave., the Officer quickly pulled up behind my vehicle, and followed my vehicle into the gas station parking lot. The Officer approached and said, "...Is there something wrong with your taillights? Because, it appeared that you didn't turn your right signal on, while turning into the parking lot...Try turning on your turn signals...Yeah, it looks like something is wrong with your turn signals." Next, the Officer pointed out that my license plate sticker was old, and requested my vehicle/driver identification. After the Officer looked up my record, he approached and said, "You know, you were recently arrested last month for DRIVING WHILE BARRED...right?" I replied, "Yes." Next, the Officer said, "And, you failed to turn on your right turn signal before turning into the parking lot." Yet, I typically turn on my blinkers, so I told the Officer that I thought I turned [on] my right turn signal... However, the Officer still placed me under arrest for the following charges: DRIVING WHILE BARRED HABITUAL OFFENDER and FAILURE TO SIGNAL TURN.

*-NOTE------>September 16, 2013: I met with the assigned Public Defender, who explained the sentencing options offered by the County Attorney. I requested inclusion of my recent US citizenship renunciation and vehicle/RV impound fees and return costs, for consideration during the next Court proceeding. Yet, the Public Defender stated that the citizenship renunciation and Montana legal matters were outside the scope of the Iowa case. Towards the end of the meeting, the Public Defender stated that [they] would "pick me up" [for Court] in a few days.

------------>September 20, 2013: 2nd Hearing was CANCELLED, because my Lawyer did not appear, and there was a trial list FAX ERROR [mentioned by one of the Lawyers in the Courtroom]. Yet, the Judge stated that the next Trial, for the case, would be held on Monday, September 23, 2013...Before the Judge dismissed me, I was directly asked about the case, because the case file was missing. So, I mentioned the plea option presented by my assigned Public Defender, during a pre-Trial meeting on September 16th.

*-SHOCKING LACK OF LAW & ORDER FOLLOW-THROUGH--->October 19, 2013: I TRY TO BE HONEST and RESPONSIBLE. So, I returned to the Hilton Omaha, because there was unfinished business. Specifically, the other parties involved ONLY CONSIDERED the INSURANCE CLAIM and FAILED to SUBMIT a POLICE REPORT of the incident, on the 18th. So, I was interrogated about the incident and issued the Notice to Appear, only after the Hotel Staff found me in the parking garage [inside my pitched tent w/ protest/demonstration pieces displayed in the tent screen door].

*-QUICK SECURE CITIZENSHIP RENUNCIATION QUESTION--->October 21, 2013: En route to the Omaha Correctional Center, I stopped by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security [Citizenship and Immigration Services] Office to request DENATURALIZATION PROCESS PAPERWORK. First, I stopped by the Immigration Court side of the building, and was quickly told that CITIZENSHIP RENUNCIATION MATTERS are handled in the main lobby of the building. Once in the main lobby, I asked the on-duty Officers at the front desk where to pick up DENATURALIZATION (Citizenship Renunciation) paperwork. One Officer mentioned an office in Washington, D.C., and that I should call or write a letter to them. So, NO LUCK on DENATURALIZATION from a "Homeland Security-Immigration Services" Office?!

*-MORE PROTEST FUN--->October 21, 2013: I took my protest/demonstration to the lobby of the Omaha Correctional Center. I placed a copy of the "New Incarceration Facility (Tree/Flower Design)" print out, and a working version of the protest statement [written at Pierce County Jail] on 2 lobby window sills. I demonstrated back-and-forth in the lobby entryway, while holding my notepad with the "Renunciation & Treason" statement. Some Correctional Facility Staff requested an explanation for the protest/demonstration, and I replied, "I am political protesting/demonstrating...somewhat in response to the current state of the US Government, yet I used to Anti-War protest with a peace and justice group [while in College in Adrian, MI] during the Bush Administration...However, I am now on my own. Also, I'm promoting my new Incarceration Facility design for future jails, prisons, and detention centers..." Even though, a few Facility Staff marveled and complimented, I was ushered out the building, and soon after asked to leave the area.

Nevertheless, I decided to continue the protest/demonstration showcase. So, I crossed the street and pitched my tent on a sidewalk across from the "Community Corrections Center-Omaha" with my protest/demonstration pieces showcased in the tent screen door. Hours later, an Open Door Mission Employee asked me to pitch my tent elsewhere, because tents are not allowed on the Open Door Mission property, which owned the whole block. After a brief question and answer period [regarding my activities and future plans] and encouragement to just stay at the shelter in a room, the Open Door Mission Employee suggested that I pitch the tent back on the Omaha Correctional Center side. Reluctantly, I carried my tent across the street, right back onto Omaha Correctional Center grounds. Eventually, after moving my tent closer to the Facility doors [overnight], the Law Enforcement were called by the Correctional Facility Staff, and the Police told me to leave the area, too.

*-DAILY FOOD SUPPLIER SHOCK--->October 22, 2013: While trekking through the Open Door Mission Campus, an Open Door Mission Shuttle Driver asked me why I was in the area and offered me a ride. I replied, "I heard that there's a food pantry here, so [right now] I'm here to pick up some breakfast." The Shuttle Driver explained that only the Men's Shelter provides food in the morning, afternoon, and evening.[*SHOCKING AND SOMEWHAT SCARY*] So, the Shuttle Driver transported me to the Men's Shelter. Inside the shelter, in spite of the definitive EX-CON THREAT and DESPERATE BUM SWINDLER LOOK-A-LIKES, I noticed women and children, too. I steered clear of the EX-CON SWINDLER SOCIAL CULTURE and remained near the front desk during the visit. Eventually, the front desk workers handed me 2 bags of lunch food, because the breakfast period had ended for the day.

*-EARLIER ARREST OF THE DAY--->October 24, 2013: After an overnight tent stay at the doors of "ONE OWEN PARKWAY" (Carter Lake, IA Office Building), I walked next door to the "Country Inn & Suites" and proceeded to get some breakfast. Once in the Hotel Dining Room, I was aggressively told by a [presumed] lead Hotel Staff Member to leave the premises and never return.[NOTE: On the previous day (10-23-13), I made a quick visit to the Hotel. Soon after, a Hotel Kitchen Worker (an old lady) told the Front Desk Staff of my presence in the dining room, and the same lead Hotel Staff Member escorted me out of the Hotel.] So, I casually walked towards the front doors, and the same gentleman [minus the gentle] verbally berated me from behind [almost pushing me out the door], as I explained that I just wanted a bagel and that over 25% of the food presented would be tossed away. He said that he would call the Police, and I replied, "That's fine by me. I think they [the Police] should know what just happened here, today...Over 25% of that food will be trashed, and that's not right...[trashing food into bags] reduces food quality..."

A Carter Lake Police Officer arrived, and after a brief talk with the aggressive Hotel Staff, told me to leave the premises and never come back. The Officer, also, stated that he remembered me from an incident at the restaurant next door [in the same parking lot], earlier that week (10-22-13), when I pitched my tent on one side of the old Diner. [NOTE: That night, on October 22nd, 2 Officers told me to pack up my tent and leave from the premises of the closed Diner. After further questions, they offered me a ride to a local Homeless Shelter, even though I explained that the shelters 'typically' do not allow pitched tents on their properties, and that I recently was told to never pitch a tent on "Open Door Mission" grounds. So, they transported me to the "St. Francis House" in nearby Omaha. As usual, after they dropped me off, I quickly walked away from the threatening EX-CON BUM GROUNDS.] Next, the Officer told me to just leave and go back to Omaha, because the businesses in Carter Lake will not allow pitched tents on their properties. However, I was in the area, because I frequently picked up FREE COOKIES from Subway [by returning old receipts w/ survey codes], and it was a change of pace from nearby Omaha.

So, I continued my quest for breakfast, and walked up Abbot Dr. to the "Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites." Once again, the same Front Desk Staff Member, who calmly told me to leave the Hotel earlier that week, shook her head [behind the front desk] and again requested me to leave the Hotel. This time, she said that she would have to call the Police, if I continued to enter the Hotel. As I walked out of the Hotel, I asked nicely for a bagel and mentioned that over 25% of the food presented would be tossed away, which reduces food quality. Outside the Hotel, I was met by the same Carter Lake Police Officer that I encountered a half hour earlier that morning, and he [with a more aggressive demeanor] told me to leave the Holiday Inn alone, too. I reiterated the trash bag and food quality reduction claim, and walked towards the nearby "La Quinta Inn & Suites".

As I walked into [the first entryway of] the La Quinta parking lot, the Officer directly maneuvered his vehicle to block me from walking further into the property. So, to avoid being ran over by a Police vehicle, I walked along the sidewalk in front of the Hotel, and the Officer continued to move his vehicle [through the parking lot] with me towards the second entryway of the parking lot. Next, I turned back towards the Hotel's front doors, and the Officer hopped out of his vehicle and aggressively threatened me to NOT GO any further. I quickly replied, "I am going to ask the Staff at this Hotel if they have any leftovers, too."[NOTE: I successfully ate breakfast at the La Quinta earlier in the week. Yet, was asked to leave the property, after hours of computer usage in the Hotel Computer Room.] Then, the Officer said, "Oh, yeah! You can try it with them, too. Yet, it ain't gonna work. I bet...I know they don't want you here, either..." A Hotel Staff Member exited the Hotel, during the commotion, and quickly agreed with the Officer after he asked her, "Do you want her here?..." Next, a [presumed] lead Hotel Staff Member walked towards the scene, and also agreed with the Officer. Yet, as I stood my ground, the Officer forcibly pushed my backpack off my body, and arrested me for trespassing.

In the Police vehicle, [while angry] the Officer asked me why I traveled into Carter Lake. I replied, "I recently protested/demonstrated at the nearby Omaha Correctional Center, and I use the Subway...I, also, visited the Open Door Mission." Then, the Officer said, "Protest! Well, you can do that in Omaha...There are plenty of Hotels in Omaha. You can protest at all those businesses, like the Old Market District, and get plenty of attention..." After he typed some more information into his computer, he said, "Well, I'm going to take you back to Omaha...St. Francis House...and if you return to Carter Lake, then I'll drive you out West and drop you off in the middle of the State..." Lastly, the Officer dropped me off in front of the St. Francis House, briefly provided directions to the Old Market District, and said, "Now, you stay away from Carter Lake!...If I see you again in Carter Lake, I will take you out West and drop you off in the middle of the State!"[*WHAT THE LIVIN'...?!*][*CAN I GET A SHOCKED MOMENT OF SILENCE?!*]

*-EARLIER BAN OF THE DAY--->October 24, 2013: After the Carter Lake Police "drop off," I decided to continue my search for food at the "Fairfield Inn & Suites Omaha Downtown." Upon Hotel entry, I was quickly noticed by a Front Desk Staff Member and asked to leave.[NOTE: Earlier that week, I encountered the same Staff Member, and she asked me to leave the Hotel, after explaining that they do not give leftovers to those who are not guests of the Hotel.] Once again, I asked, "Is there a time, at the end of breakfast, when I can return for a bagel or any other leftovers?" She said, "No...sorry...we don't do that here..." and again requested me to leave the Hotel. As I walked outside the Hotel, I replied, "I just want a bagel. It wouldn't hurt, since over 25% of the food presented will be tossed away [into the garbage]. The tossing away of food [AS IS] reduces food quality." While I stood outside, the lead Hotel Staff were informed of my request, and one stepped outside and said, "No...No...No! Once again, you are not getting any food!..." Next, the Hotel called the Police. Eventually, the Police arrived, and I stepped back into the Hotel, and once again explained that trashing over 25% of the breakfast reduces food quality. In spite of my comments, the Hotel issued me a verbal "Exclusion/Ban" from the Hotel. Then, the Police asked if I had any questions. I didn't have any further comments, so I left the Hotel.

I asked them [KINDLY] for any leftovers after breakfast [specifically, any extra bagels/doughnuts], and mentioned to them that they toss away 25% of the food presented [into the trash AS IS]. Also, I explained that the trashing of over 25% of the food reduces food quality [because the food was prepared for human consumption, NOT FOR TRASH BAG DECAY!]. Furthermore, I told the Judge that [during the previous week], I was aggressively attacked by a Hospitality Staff Member to leave the premises, and that I returned to the area partly because I felt threatened by such acts [and protested, the notion that those actions could continue as acceptable behavior (from the Hospitality Staff), by returning to the scene].

Since, I prefer honesty, I plead "Guilty" to the charge of "Destruction of Property," at the Hilton Omaha. Further, the Prosecutor actually accurately stated the facts of the case to the Judge [notably, the fact that I was, at the time, protesting/demonstrating, while tossing Highway debris], so I was somewhat shocked. As a result, the Judge questioned me regarding my reaction to the Prosecution, and I explained that I was protesting/demonstrating, that day, for many hours, outside of the Hilton Omaha, and the Prosecutor actually correctly stated those facts. Yet, the Judge sharply interrupted, and asked, "Did you toss a [sign] ???post??? [over the Highway overpass] into a vehicle's windshield?" I replied, "Yes," and the Judge, in response to my comments, [*MAGICALLY*] reduced the sentence to ONLY 10 days [w/ Credit for Time Served].[*QUITE an ODD final judgement, I MUST SAY*] :|

During the Court proceeding, I explained that I DO NOT SUPPORT THE MEDICAL/HEALTH CARE INDUSTRY/SYSTEM and that I cannot give/receive a mental health evaluation, because it violates my "Living Will." Even though, the Judge was initially very dismissive of my comments, another Court date was set, because I refused the deal proposed by the Prosecution (a deal that was painfully FULLY ACCEPTED by the Judge). Also, I tried to plead "NO CONTEST," after the Prosecution presented the plea bargain deal. Yet, the Judge was very DICTATORIAL, embarrassingly loudly refused my plea, and frankly stated, "No, listen! I AM NOW GOING TO MAKE SURE THAT YOU GET A MENTAL HEALTH EVALUATION, because 'Living Wills' can change. My 'Living Will' changes with time. So, you can change your 'Living Will'." I replied, "No. My 'Living Will' remains as is. In it, I specifically state that I DO NOT SUPPORT THE MEDICAL/HEALTH CARE INDUSTRY, and to never transport me to a Medical/Health Care affiliated facility. So, a mental health evaluation would violate my 'Living Will.' So, when that Court order is not carried out, I'm just letting you know why [it cannot be followed]. [Overall] it is against my Religious beliefs." [NOTE: Regardless of the next Court date, I now patiently wait for 1 or more Legal Services Groups to endorse my "Living Will." On the other hand, since the USA Judiciary continues to exhibit a strange deference to mental health (psychological) evaluation, I suspect that I could present my "Living Will" on a "Ten Commandments" tablet, and THEY WOULD STILL REJECT my CONSCIENTIOUS AND POWERFUL DIRECTIVES. *SAD. VERY SAD. I DO SAY.*]

In response, the Prosecutor mentioned that the presented plea deals are the County standard, yet stated that they could reduce the fine with "Credit for Time Served."

During phone correspondence with the Prosecuting Attorney, the Prosecuting Attorney offered to drop the "Criminal Trespass" and "Failure to Appear" charges, and uphold the "Theft of Service" charge with payment of a fine. Lastly, the Judge ordered the presented deal from the Prosecuting Attorney, including a monthly payment plan for the fine, after taking into consideration my specific housing and employment situation.

Fortunately, the assigned Public Defender presented a nice sugarcoated view of the case incident, by stating that a "Good Samaritan" (a generous Local) was moved with compassion to feed a young homeless woman in need, and subsequently asked the young woman to follow her into the Doughnut Shop to get some food. After the Public Defender's statements, I cleared up some relevant incident details (about the outcome of the incident during the Police encounter). Lastly, the Judge agreed with the Public Defender's proposed deal to cut the fine in half and waive the jail time.
